Heartbreak Weekend

And I just had to write about it. I just have to verbalize these frustrations so I could (hopefully) not let them bother me anymore.

  1. We lost a teammate. That was not the heartbreaking part. We got removed from our department and we don’t have a place to go. Isn’t that frustrating from an organization’s standpoint? Also, idealism, gone.
  2. The UP Pep Squad did not deserve the place they got. Despite giving this performance, they only got 3rd place. I know that has a lot to do with bias but most people in the MOA Arena will say that’s not the way to go.
  3. Gilas Pilipinas settles for the FIBA Asia Championship silver medal after having lost to China. The thing is, officiating was really bad at this game and it was blatant.
  4. The UP Men’s Basketball team, despite starting 2-0 this season, lost it’s 5th straight game to a still winless Adamson Falcons. The Maroons was able to close out the 19-point deficit but was not able to score after that.

The saving grace for last week was that season bronze medal finish for our inter-batch volleyball tournament.

Maybe, I’m over it now. It just tells you that no matter how much effort you give, there are still a lot of factors preventing you from getting what you want.

And as my boss said, we just have to live with it.

  1. Sorry to hear things didn’t work out. It sucks especially when you put so much heart and soul into something. But your boss is right – pick yourself up, take it as experience and prepare for the next best thing. Cheer up! 🙂
