When you say Korea, you think of cosmetics. When you say shopping for cosmetics, you think of Myeongdong. Myeongdong is its own neighborhood. It is the shopping center of Seoul and is probably is the most famous urban area in Seoul.
I was sad because I wasn’t able to walk its streets and shop during the nighttime when everything is alive. We had to shop for items in the morning that we left for Busan.
That’s my biggest regret in my travel.
Myeongdong has a lot of shops catering to cosmetics. Every other street has its own Face Shop, Nature Republic, Holika Holika, Etude House, Tony Moly, etc. That’s how big the cosmetic industry is here in South Korea.
Although, in Myeongdong, you’d also find clothing brands such as H&M, Uniqlo, and Forever 21. These three are allotted very big spaces consist of multiple levels. But, there are also local brands that have their own merit.
However, at the center of it all stand a different structure. It’s the Myeongdong Theater. Here they hold performances such as the NANTA Cooking Show, that’s the one I’m most familiar with.
When I get back to Korea, these are the two things that I’d really go for because Myeongdong is a must-see when you visit Korea.
