The First Obstacle

As I have stated in a previous post that I have been transferred to a new unit. Our main purpose is to ensure that we know what to do when disaster strikes and be able to continue with operations at that situation.

The Philippines is subject to Typhoon Hagupit at these times and we are just hoping that there will be no heavy damage this time around. Last Friday, I was in a disaster preparedness meeting with all the support units who will provide the reinforcement needed to continue with operations tomorrow. It was then that the big boss said that we (my teammate and I) be issued company phones and laptops because of the nature of our jobs.

It was then I realized how serious our job is. Right now, I am still on standby alert for whatever might happen. Hopefully, I don’t need to go to work today.
